bfim is directly owned by 4 Binzagr
family members. As such it is part of the Beit Binzagr group of companies.
Beit Binzagr is the traditional name for the joint business interests of the Binzagr family. Included are those companies that the
three Managing Partners ( Faisal S. Binzagr, Mohamed O.S. Binzagr and Abdullah S. Binzagr) control together.
Beit Binzagr is not a holding company in the legal sense. The companies form a constellation of autonomous commercial ventures with their own objectives and specialisations, complementing and competing to provide efficient services within their fields of activity. Each has its own separate management, reporting to a nominated Board of Directors or Executive Committee
The business activities were founded over 125 years ago in Jeddah by Mohamed Obaeid Binzagr, the grandfather of the current Partners. Up to the 1930’s he concentrated mainly on import of consumer goods through neighbouring countries for the Jeddah area, including the pilgrims to Makkah. His sons Abdullah and Saeid started importing these goods directly from the European suppliers, increasingly for the nationwide market.
These trading activities are continued through Binzagr Company, which was built into a broad based importer and distributor of international branded FMCG. From 1970 this also resulted in Joint Ventures with Unilever and Co-Ro for local manufacturing of famous brands like Lipton, Omo, Lux, Sunsilk, Dove, Signal, SunQuick and Suntop.
From around the same time additional activities were started in Cosmetics Distribution (AVON), Marketing Services, Shipping Agency (Barwil), Safety Match manufacturing and Industrial Insulation & Trade (bfim)
