The pioneer years
BFIM is directly owned by 4 Binzagr family members. As such it is part of the Beit Binzagr group of companies.
BEIT BINZAGR is the traditional name for the joint business interests of the Binzagr family. Included are those companies that the three Managing Partners ( Faisal S. Binzagr, Mohamed O.S. Binzagr and Abdullah S. Binzagr) control together.
The business activities were founded in 1881 in Jeddah by Mohamed Obaeid Binzagr, the grandfather of the current Partners. Up to the 1930’s he concentrated mainly on import of consumer goods through neighbouring countries for the Jeddah area, including the pilgrims to Makkah. His sons Abdullah and Saeid started importing these goods directly from the European manufacturers, increasingly for the nationwide market. These trading activities are continued through Binzagr Company, which was built into a broad based importer and distributor of international branded FMCG. From 1970 this also resulted in Joint Ventures with Unilever and Co-Ro for local manufacturing of famous brands like Lipton, Omo, Lux, Sunsilk, Dove, Signal, SunQuick and Suntop. Several fourth generation family members now have senior management positions.
From around the same time additional activities were started in Cosmetics Distribution (AVON), Marketing Services (IMC), Shipping Agency (BARWIL), Safety Match manufacturing and Industrial Insulation & Trade (BFIM).
BFIM was established over 30 years ago as a trading company focusing on Saudi Aramco and has expanded into an industrial contracting company in Insulation, Refractory, Painting, Fireproofing and Scaffolding. BFIM added Manufacturing, Assembly and Maintenance services to its portfolio and has expanded beyond Saudi Arabia with a subsidiary in Oman. The original trading activities remain and focus on strong international brands in Rotating Equipment, Valves and Instrumentation
